2011 SAFETY CONFERENCES
Ark. Code Ann. § 11-9-409 instructs the Arkansas Insurance Department, the Arkansas Department of Labor, and the Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission to assist one another in a cooperative program to improve and enhance safety programs in the state.
The AWCC’s Health and Safety Division coordinates the commission’s participation in this endeavor.
Through the years, the program has included education; data collection; safety awards; design and issuance of innovative tools such as books, pamphlets, and videos; and the encouragement of and counsel with carriers and employers to implement their own workplace safety services.
Annually, a series of safety conferences is scheduled in cities around the state. Employers are encouraged to attend and also to send employee representatives.
The sessions for 2011 are listed below. A schedule for 2012 will be announced.
