Kids’ Chance Board of Directors
Elects New Officers

At the 2009 wrap up meeting Linda Collins, Vice President, announced that Board President Bill Zihala had tendered his resignation. Linda advised that Bill plans to relax and enjoy his retirement as well as more time with his grandchildren. Although not actively participating on the board, Bill plans to continue his support of Kids’ Chance. The Board voted to accept the resignation and gratefully acknowledged Bill’s many years of service and support.

Linda Collins was nominated and unanimously elected to fill the vacated position as President of the Board of Directors which left a vacant Vice President position. Shawn McNerlin was nominated and unanimously elected to fill the position of Vice President. Both Linda and Shawn joined the Board of Directors in 2008. The Board acknowledged their dedicated and enthusiastic service and looks forward to working with them in the future.

Lynn Forbush Elected to
Kids’ Chance Board of Directors

Kids’ Chance of Arkansas has invited Lynn Forbush to join their Board of Directors. Lynn is Vice President of Claims Administration at Crockett Adjustment. She also serves as Compliance Officer. She has been with Crockett Adjustment for 22 years and has a total of 28 years in the insurance business.

Lynn is responsible for the day to day operations of the Claims/TPA operation at Crockett Adjustment. She manages the Support/Processing Group, and coordinates adjuster workloads and projects. She is the primary point of contact for Software and IT issues. She serves on the Client Service Team for both current and prospective clients, and is a member of the Management Team, responsible for budgeting, forecasting and trending revenue, payroll and other expenses for the company. As Compliance Officer, she ensures all office and individual licenses are maintained and up to date.

Lynn is married and the mother of four grown children, 2 boys and 2 girls. She is the proud “Granna” of a two year-old granddaughter and is expecting two more grandchildren in December. Her hobbies are horses, water sports, and fishing with her husband. She has been actively involved with her church’s youth group, 4-H Bridle & Bits Club, served as Riding Club Officer, Horse Show Association Representative, and participated in fund raising for these groups.

Lynn hopes to use her talents to benefit the Kids’ Chance of Arkansas scholarship program. Her fund raising experience will be a huge asset to the organization.

Shannon Moore Elected to
Kids’ Chance Board of Directors

Kids’ Chance of Arkansas has invited Shannon Moore to join their Board of Directors. Shannon serves as the Director of Risk Management Programs for the Arkansas School Boards Association (ASBA). Her experience in workers’ compensation insurance, coupled with her knowledge of property and casualty insurance, helps ASBA’s member districts meet their coverage requirements while keeping their costs down. Prior to joining ASBA in 2006, Shannon was a workers’ compensation claims adjustor for Risk Management Resources. Shannon earned her degree in political science and sociology from Ouachita Baptist University. A native of El Dorado, Shannon volunteers as a member of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure organizing committee.

Elects New Vice President

Linda Collins, SCLA, was elected vice president during the last Kids’ Chance board of directors meeting. Linda had previously served as chairman of the Friends of Kids Chance committee. Since joining Kids’ Chance, she has worked very hard to raise funds, solicit sponsors, and serve in any capacity where she was needed. Her leadership and enthusiasm will help Kids’ Chance continue to provide scholarships to children whose parent has been killed or left permanently and totally disabled due to a work-related injury/illness.

Linda joined Risk Management Resources in September, 1998 and is currently the Chief Operating Officer. She has 26 years experience in the insurance industry, which includes Fidelity and Surety Bond Underwriting, as well as Claims Management.

Prior to her employment with Risk Management Resources, Linda was the National Workers’ Compensation Manager for a major retail department store chain. Linda has managed claims for major insurance carriers, large self-insured employers, as well as self-insured groups. Her claims handling and management experience is both multi-line and multi-state. She currently holds a Texas multi-line adjusting license and serves on the workers’ compensation committee of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce.

Linda earned her Senior Claim Law Associate designation in 2002. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hendrix College in 1980.

Kids’ Chance of Arkansas
Welcomes New Member to
Board of Directors

Shawn McNerlin has accepted a position on the Kids’ Chance of Arkansas Board of Directors. Shawn joins the Board during their busiest time of the year, with the charity golf tournament scheduled for June 2nd, the scholarship application review and recipient selection in mid-June, and the Kids’ Chance of Arkansas Awards Reception/Luncheon set for July 24th. Shawn is eager to promote this worthy scholarship program for children whose parent/guardian has been killed or left permanently and totally disabled due to a job-related injury covered under the Arkansas workers’ compensation laws.

Shawn has been a nurse for the past 26 years and a Case Manager for 14 years, with the last 11 as an Independent Case Manager for her own company, American Health Care Solutions, Inc. With orthopaedic and neurosurgery as her primary background, she also worked with all aspects of the human body and related injuries. Her past work history includes Operating Room, Emergency Room, Recovery Room, and working for two private physicians in Little Rock. She has a vast knowledge of the physicians in Little Rock/North Little Rock and surrounding areas in Arkansas. Recently, Eagle Express was developed as a subsidiary company under American Health Care Solutions, Inc., providing non-emergent medical transportation to injured workers.

Besides working in the medical community, Shawn is a current ANA - Arkansas Nurses Association - member; CMSA - Case Management Society Member; current Board Member of NAWBO - National Association of Women Business Owners; current Board-Program Chairperson and Member of the Arkansas Self-Insurer Association and the State of Arkansas combined Workers’ Compensation Commission Educational Conference since 2006. Publications include “Rescue 911 Revisited” Sept 1992, for the Association of the Hand Care Professionals.
