7th Annual Charity Golf Tournament
The day dawned hot and humid as Tournament Director Kim Cook’s volunteers prepared for the gathering of players in the 7th annual Charity Golf Tournament at Diamante Golf Club in Hot Springs Village. 17 teams soon began to gather just in time for the 10:30 registration and 11:00 lunch in the clubhouse. Teams soon hit the driving range to limber up for an enjoyable day on the links.

The annual golf tournament is a major fund raiser in Kids’ Chance’s efforts to continue providing scholarships to eligible dependents of Arkansas’ injured workers. The 12:00 shot gun start marked the beginning of a day of fun in the sun for Corporate and individual sponsors and donors enjoy a day of fun in the sun as well as the camaraderie generated by their common desire to benefit the scholarship recipients.

As players worked their way over the challenging course they were afforded the opportunity to inspect the 2011 Honda Accord provided by Honda World of Conway for the hole in one contest. Unfortunately, we have yet to have a winner for the automobile, but all our players are winners in their efforts to provide scholarships to the children of deceased and permanently totally disabled workers.
At the end of the day the scores were tallied and posted. However, the real winners of the day are the scholarship recipients who, assisted by the generosity of donors, sponsors, and tournament participants, navigate the water hazards and sand traps in their quest to score a hole-in-one by attaining the higher education needed for a bright sunny future. Our congratulations and gratitude go out to players, sponsors and donors for a game well played.
