In an effort to reduce administrative costs associated with filing workers' compensation forms, the Arkansas Workers' Compensation Commission has established, in accordance with Rule 099.35, an electronic filing program.

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is a national effort that is being coordinated through the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC). The IAIABC brings together jurisdictions, carriers, self-insureds, third party administrators, and other interested parties to make this focus a national one. A major advantage of the national focus is the "standard" that is available to all parties operating in a multi-state environment.

The IAIABC has developed national standards for filing first reports of injury. Arkansas has adopted these standards and is currently accepting these filings electronically.
